I apologize, that this maybe a stupid question of the answer is in a guide I haven't checked.

Anyway, how do you get so many seems in one house? Do you build lots to destroy them and have that sim homeless, rinse a repeat.

Or
Just have that many sims and they each have their own house?

As residents of a house, you can have a total of 4 (normally). I believe with the new VIP stuff, one can now have 5. (But I still have 4). That number of 4 or 5, is for the sims that call that house their home. One can have a total of 10 sims at a house, where all could be visiting, or some live there, and some are visitors.

When I first started playing, I would naturally have few houses. I would have the 2 sims in 2 separate houses become good friends, and then have 1 move in, leaving a now empty house. Add a sim, and repeat til I had 4 roommates in 1 house. One can get 9 sims with 3 houses this way (without marriage and babies) . And with 4 houses up to 13 sims.
