Life orbs & personalities, hobbies and actions

Hi all,

Encouraged by some other users here, I have finally completed the LD&L quest, but now am not sure how to assign the personalities correctly.

What hobbies (or actions in general) are related to the personalities? What are the extra actions that should be available for sims with certain personality?

For example, I gave a Sporty orb to my sim who practises the Diving hobby. However, the options are still the same. So I was wondering what exactly is changed by assigning a specific personality.

Related question: Is there any chance to change a personality of a person that got a platinum orb assigned? (It's not possible the usual way via the dreams tracker - a notification pops up saying "This Sim cannot change their personality because they have already achieved Life Dreams!) I'm hesitating with the assignment as it seems that it cannot be undone...

Hi Microdot, thank you, I appreciate your quick response - I read the Firemonkeys forums & FAQ as well... but they still keep being mysterious.

" If your Sims are assigned a personality, they will have the ability to earn and upgrade Life Orbs, gain bonus XP, and exclusive actions in Sim Town just for that personality."

My question is - what are those exclusive actions? There is one example in the FAQ on the screenshot that I'm copying below; I was wondering whether anyone ever completed a list of all possibilities...

There are stickied topics with lists of lifedreams tasks and progress numbers for every personality at the update forum.

Then there are some special tasks in the game, which only appear for sims who have personalities. Examples for a sporty adult are shown in the pictures below. We don't have a list of those tasks, yet.

Changing the personality is possible as long as it's possible to upgrade the orb. [Removed wrong information]

Thanks Erin, especially as for the examples! The actions to obtain the orb are clear, so let's have a look at their usage in the happy immortal Sim's life...

As you say such list does not exist, I guess I will try building that... By googling the keywords you posted, I have found:

"Sims can now do actions based off these personalities. For example a Sporty sim can do a Post Workout Scrub-down in a shower and adult Entertainer sims can play instruments that teen idols play." source

If anyone posts any further, I will update a list in the first post of this tread.

I do know that if you have a sim with a Sporty personality that you can use the option "Check body out in a mirror" (1 minute) to fulfill a goal of "Practice speech in a mirror" (3 hours).

Toddler Pet Fanatics have the following interactions available: Cat Whispering, Imitate Parrot (will also work with the Owl, which acts like a 3 star parrot), and Dance with Horse.

Soon after the Life Dreams update I started making a list of all the actions that you could do to fulfil life dreams. In this document (I made it in Keynote and exported it to PDF) you can see actions that are possible to complete the life dreams (as far as I know). This list is not up to date. I stopped editing this list a while ago, however, I checked most of the actions today (I made them bold). I made some actions purple, these are characteristic for the personalities. The purple actions with an (x) behind cannot be used to complete life dreams (if I am right). The XP points will probably differ, as might the amount of life dream points. I already noticed that a lot of XP point amounts have been changed since the Life Dreams update (probably with the newer updates, such as the skating actions). Furthermore, some actions are not always available. For example the "Be Hypnotised by Fish" is only possible if you bought the fish pack. Also, you can see some XP points in red. I found out that sometimes a person without the specific personality could gain less or even more XP points with the same action (weird, but not that important I guess). At the most left column I added the total amount of life dream points that is needed per orb (only bronze and silver, however). So, here you are. Feel free to add, edit or whatever you want to do with this information, you may use it .

So in short, it is worthwhile to give personalities to the Sims so as to get extra interaction? I already have the different orbs & used a few of the platinum ones to pause favorite adult Sims' aging. They are mostly without personalities....yet.
