I agree, I probably don't need to keep the specialized ones but I really, really, really don't want to have to redo the badges if something changes and I need the specialists. I have lots of sims so I can do this.
The specialists only go to work off-site and they do earn more than the lower levels. If I need to have anyone work on site for an event, I send the lower sims so I only get the shorter tasks.
This is good advice! I would definitely not like to have to get those badges again. Currently, there are four sims on each profession, working much like you have yours. There are only two "spare" adult sims. They can be floaters. There is no reason to remove the specializations and "just in case" is a good reason not to! Thanks y'all. You've helped me clarify this. I just collected two tokens and quit this event though, so I'm ahead of the game for next time. I already have plenty of these "prizes".

I'm trying to increase the resources in my various workplaces. If I send sims to work off site do they get rewarded in coins that I can use to buy resources? Or do they only get simoleans and XP?

Sadly when the sims work offsite they are paid in simoleans and XP the same as the other professions. Only sims who are at the workplaces can earn coins and resources. I think it's safe to say that earning resources is a long haul!

Hi everyone,

I have the movie studio but only have the costume studio and audition room unlocked but i have started getting people that have 4 things they need help with and one will be for the voice over studio which isnt even built! Is this a glitch do you think or just another way EA are making progress even harder?

Thanks

That's how it works, I assume it is intended. When one of those sims appears just don't help him and he will leave later or in the next shift.
If you help him in one of the other areas he will never leave and will be around until you build the voice studio.

Thanks, that is a very irritating mechanic unfortunately i helped the voice over person with the other things they needed as i had 2 sims working but nothing for one sim to do! Guess i am stuck with them for a long time now. :(

I've had a quick search and not sure if this has already been commented on but thought I'd warn others about my stuff up. I had a level 9 director at the Movie Studio and had unlocked the outfit too so that career was 100% complete. I then had the bright idea to retire her so that the next up & comer could hopefully collect resources on the quicker tasks as I didn't have enough resources to "build" the director's trailer. However, when I've checked on the collection progress the trailer has been locked again so the new director has to earn all the badges too 😩. Bit disheartening as I thought once they had been unlocked they would have remained so.

Oh no that's very unfortunate, It takes a lot of effort to earn those badges I don't know what I would do in your case, maybe I would stop playing for some days or weeks of frustration.
I recommend to always have fresh cloud saves in case these things happen, it has saved me a lot of times.
I hope your comment warns others, thank you.
