It's not an update and it's semi-mandatory (like the Mystery Island goals).
The Music writing hobby is being introduced (as well as the new "monument", the town sign). You can ignore it and like with other hobbies, talent isn't required.

And a little stranger than that, I am somehow already 50% through!
Does someone have a list of the goals posted or a list they can post? I'm excited, but just not ready to start yet!

So I guess mid-November is actually 1st day of November...
I was at 50% too...I'm guessing that was to get a teenager...bake the cake and all that...but it dropped down when I actually started.
Now...IIRC...
1. Buy magazines
2. Have teenager read tenn gossip mag
3. Have teen watch cat videos
4. Send teen to park
5. Make plan to get famous...on the blackboard incongruously placed on the pier
This unlocks the keyboards...unless I forgot something...one for simoleons...two for LPs...stars...different complete times...
Me too! I started at 54%, but I have no sound so I rebooted my iPad - still no sound but I went back down to 8%. Six days left on my meter. Is anybody else missing sound effects or the sims music?? My other apps have sound. Dora is reading the teen mag. Do the teens have to do everything? Because if there are any 24 hour goals that come up, I would like to start them early with an adult, if I can, especially with the weekend coming, I can play more often.

My sound went out for a few moments on my ipad. That's when the pop-up showed up. I turned the app off and back on. It's back now.

After I finished the magazine the percentage complete went down to 8%. Maybe it's a glitch.

I play on iPad. Turned it off and turned it back on - still no sound. I don't want to delete my game - how do you "quit" the game? I closed it, closed all my apps and tabs, powered down, waited 5 minutes and turned it back on - still no sound
